Traditionally we are accustomed to seeing the pursuit of success and wealth as completely divergent from the path of self-development and spirituality. Consciously or subconsciously we tend to divide our pursuits into two broad categories: inner development and outer achievement. But when we take a closer look, we see that both pursuits can be aspects of the same path.

Open your heart to all those around you. By opening your heart to others, you will open your heart to the Divine essence. Your heart contains an intelligence that is profound. It is intimately connected with every other heart. In this sense we are all of one heart. We are One.
Misapprehension of this truth, and coming to believe in our false identities has served to divide us, with this sense of division and separation expressing in untold misery, depression, disease and violence. (more…)
If we are urging first world countries to forgive the debt of poorer third world countries, are we willing to do this on a personal level too?
I believe we should. As above, so below. What works for the macrocosm must work for the microcosm.
Whether your supposed oppressor or aggressor has hurt you with words or in other ways, it helps you more than them to assume a stance of forgiveness. Whether or you let your aggressor off the hook or choose to take the matter to court, it still helps to assume this stance internally. (more…)
While chatting with an old friend the other day, she was expressing how wonderful it is to have so much knowledge so readily available to us these days especially pertaining to life and the bigger picture. She was quick to add, though, that this often leads to information overload, and leaves her at a loss of how to ‘connect the dots.’ Almost as a joke, she said she wished there was a ‘précis version’ – all in one page or one paragraph!
